This year’s Canada Day celebration will kick-off at 10:00 am with a parade full of red and white travelling down Cleveland Avenue into Stan Clarke park for the annual First Nations welcome and flag raising!
New for 2019, we will be utilizing two locations and will see the return of vehicles to the parade. The majority of the day will be in Junction Park & U’Siyam Pavilion with live music, kids activities, food trucks, interactive community booths, a small artisan market and more! The DSBIA is proud
to announce the opening act for the day’s activities; five-time JUNO nominees and CBC Music’s “Canada’s Favourite Kids Entertainer” Bob’s & LoLo. The day will also feature a host of local talent including Aude Ray and The Wells, among others.
The daytime events will draw to a close at Junction Park close at 5:00pm. The public is then encouraged to take a family walk along our wonderful park paths to arrive at Brennan Park on Field #4 at 7:00pm where there will be a stage, food trucks, beer & cider garden as well as room
to set up blankets & chairs. This year Canada Day will be rocked by JUNO winners, and West Coast Music Award winners the Paperboys! The much-loved folk-rock band have spent that last five years on the road playing all over North America and Europe, they are a festival favourite and will be in our very own backyard. A spectacular firework display will return for Canada Day 2019 following the Paperboys, and will be the culmination of this year’s festivities.
