WHO are your Downtown Businesses? The people behind the businesses

February 26, 2021News

FREE MARKETING INITIATIVE – OPEN TO ALL DOWNTOWN SQUAMISH BIA MEMBERS

‘WHO are your Downtown Businesses?’ is an initiative created by DSBIA to facilitate bringing the people behind the business to the forefront.

While technology has certainly changed our lives dramatically, it has not replaced the fact that people buy from people they know, like, and trust. As a small business, the relationships you share with your customers are the biggest advantage you have over your competitors.

Most of the people you’re interacting with via email or on Facebook or Instagram are the same people who live in your community, visit your place of business, and have a clear understanding of who you are and what you’re all about.

By humanizing your marketing, you’ll have an immediate advantage over the businesses who continue to put the same brand-first experience forward. While brand is super important for your marketing strategy, so are the people behind it. And that could be the difference between whether or not you’re able to attract the new customers you need to grow your business.

This DSBIA initiative will give you the opportunity to showcase you and your business at no cost to you. The BIA knows that supporting our merchants is key to the successful return of our economy and we want to highlight the people that are making it happen.

The BIA will offer a fully-inclusive marketing experience, all expenses will be covered by the BIA. You will be have a face to face (or virtual) interview with a selection of standard questions that will lead the reader to understand WHO is behind the business; what drives YOU, how YOU came about being the owner, YOUR family, YOUR history, YOUR interests/hobbies, what YOU have had to do to deal with the challenges over the pandemic, pivots YOU have had to make.

The experience includes:

  • A 30 minute interview which will be the basis for the feature on our new blog page –  ‘WHO are your downtown squamish businesses’’.
  • Social Media posts about you and your business while the feature is running
  • Photography: 1 image of you standing in or outside your business

To participate please fill out the online form by March 8;

  • Your Logo
  • Full Name
  • Business Name
  • Email
  • Telephone Number
  • A brief introduction to you

The BIA has invested in SEO and Google Ads to bring our website to the forefront and we will be reaching out to other BC municipalities to share our content.

By joining this initiative and putting a highlight on you and your business. You will capture the interest of potential customers both locally and regionally, and grow your market share through online and social media exposure.
