Olympic Athlete Recognition Event
DATE: Saturday April 17th
TIME: 11 AM to 3 PM
Location: Downtown Squamish
The parade will start at Pemberton and 3rd Avenue, head to Cleveland and down Cleveland to Squamish Junction Park (site of the old pavilion). BBQ, local musicians, children’s activities
 
Earth Day - 40th Anniversary
Date: Saturday April 24th  
Time: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Location:  Downtown Squamish
Come celebrate Earth Day at Pavilion Park it’s a family-oriented, interactive outdoor event. Downtown stores are selling Earth Flags with proceeds going directly to the planting of commemorative trees. The Flags are available in 3 sizes ranging $10.00 to $30.00 - display your Earth Day flag in the community and create excitement for the upcoming Event.
 
BC Hydro Sustainable Business Award
Do you display environmental responsibility? If so, nominate your business member for the BIABC Sustainable Business Awards sponsored by BC Hydro. The nomination can win you a great prize package and result in excellent publicity for the business and our downtown. It’s free to nominate a business. Please email for more information. Squamish Green Business Award 
Enter your business in the 1st annual "Green Business Award.” Please provide a 1 page summary of your approach and efforts to go green in your business: a brief description of your green record and commitment to the environment; what have you done? What challenges did you face?  What tips can you offer other businesses? How does your business contribute to a truly sustainable Eco-nomy? Submission deadline: 12:00pm, Friday, April 16th.
 
20 Minute Downtown Squamish Makeover
Participate in the community cleanup and pick up litter for 20 minutes outside your place of business.

Time: 2.00pm

Community Cleanup Days
Any day during Pitch-In Week, Squamish residents and community
groups are encouraged to “pitch in” and clean up during Community
Cleanup Days by adopting a street or area in the community
April 24 & 25 is Community Cleanup Weekend at the land­fill site for
Squamish residents to dispose of non-hazardous residential waste and
waste material collected throughout the community by volunteer
groups. Pitch-In!
