March Update

2010 AGM

Thank you to everyone that came to this year’s AGM.  We had a great turn out, with open discussion & questions on the budget before passing it. Voted new to the board this year is Colin Bush from Grilled Formage – Mike Vivan from Home Hardware and Steve Merrick from Car Tunes. So Congratulations to them.

Eric Armour talked about the proposal to the District of Squamish to allocate $20,000 for further studies to the Gateway project. The Gateway project would be large signage at the entrance to town. Later Cameron Chalmers from the District planning spoke about other signage and downtown issues.

Other speakers at the AGM were Andre Isakov from the BCBIA, who spoke about a great sidewalk patio idea from a different BIA within BC. Then to wrap the night up for speakers was local Conny Millard, business coach. After her speech everyone was feeling good and inspired. People stuck around to social and enjoy the atmosphere at Grilled Formage.
