Happenin' Holidays Cash Card Contest

With a total of 30 merchants involved last year and over $184.000 in Downtown spending, the Downtown Squamish BIA Board felt the program was a huge success. Many people were talking about the contest (convinced they would win, of course) but more importantly, shopping Downtown!

Approximately 25% (924 full cards) of the cards were returned and 439 people participated in the contest. In average, it means each person spent over $400.00 in downtown locations over the six-week period of the contest. The highest amount of spending by one person was $2,000 in tow different locations.

At the end of the contest, 699 stamps were collected representing 13,980.00 of spending during the Christmas Cash Card program!

Overall, the DSBIA Board feels this is an impressive buy-in for the first year of the program.

Now for round 2 as lots of businesses are getting excited once again about this promotion.

Program Benefits:

Your business name will appear on Cash Cards.

Your logo, phone number, biz info and tag-line (5-10 words) will appear in 6 full page, full colour ads in The Chief, Whistler Question and radio ads on Mountain FM.

Investment:

$200.00 + GST (only 35.00/week)

Plus you will receive cash cards, stamps and posters.

Now about the holiday season;

Santa Claus Parade will be Friday Dec. 11, 7 pm. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay open that evening as TONS of people will be in Downtown. Why not offer hot coco or warm crisp apple cider? That is such a small investment for a perfectly memorable experience for your biz!

We are also tinkering at the idea of running a storefront decoration contest, the winner will received a prize for the best dressed store window. Stay tuned!
